Sirodhara: The Flow of Tranquility
Sirodhara is a deeply soothing Ayurvedic therapy designed to calm the mind and promote holistic well-being. It involves a continuous, gentle flow of warm medicated oil on the forehead, particularly targeting the "third eye" area. This therapy is renowned for inducing deep relaxation, alleviating stress, and revitalizing both the mind and body. Sirodhara can be tailored to address specific concerns or applied as a comprehensive rejuvenation treatment.

Procedure
Steps Involved in Sirodhara Therapy
Step 1: Preparation
The patient lies down on a comfortable therapy table in a quiet, serene environment. A head and body massage may precede the therapy to enhance relaxation.
Step 2: Selection of Oil
Medicated oil is selected based on the individual's constitution (dosha) and health concerns. The oil is warmed to a comfortable temperature.
Step 3: Positioning
A specially designed apparatus, called a Dhara pot, is placed above head of the patient. The flow of oil is adjusted to ensure a gentle and steady stream.
Step 4: Application
The warm oil is poured in a continuous stream on the forehead, particularly the third eye region, for 30–40 minutes. The oil flow is synchronized with rhythmic movements, creating a meditative state.
Step 5: Completion
The oil is gently massaged into the scalp and temples. The excess oil is wiped off, and the patient may rest for a few minutes to absorb the therapy's effects.
Step 6: Post-Therapy Care
The patient is advised to avoid cold exposure and to drink warm, calming herbal teas. Light, nourishing meals are recommended for the rest of the day.
